Submit ArtwrokHow to Submit Artwork Files

In order to avoid any confusion or miscommunication, the following information should be used in preparation of production-ready art. Any deviations from this list will lengthen the turnaround time. We also recommend that digital files over 4 MB be sent on CD-Rom.

General:

  • We prefer vector art files which offer greater image quality when enlarging and less degradation. Usually, the ORIGINAL digital artwork file is best, saved as an eps or wmf file and formatted for PC.
  • All fonts must be converted to curves/shapes/artwork. Programs let you convert your type to outlines, curves or graphics. This eliminates the need to include your fonts when sending your image. This also ensures that your layout is produced exactly the way you want it to look.
  • Photos, illustrations, logos, documents are included on disk
  • Artwork is scaled to ½” = 1’
  • Color composite is provided with PMS color specifications indicated

Programs:

We support the following program software:

  • Adobe Illustrator CS or earlier (EPS, AI)
  • Adobe Photoshop 6 or earlier (TIFF, EPS)
  • Macromedia Freehand 9 or earlier (SAVED AS EPS)
  • Corel Draw 10 or earlier

Photography: Must be at least 300 dpi

  • Example A: 14’ x48’ project with a ½” = 1” scale will be 7” x 24” as a 300dpi CMYK PhotoShop document. It will have a file size of 58 mb. This is good resolution.
  • Example B: a 48’ x 72’ project with a 1” = 1’ scale will be 4” x 6” as a 600 DPI CMYK PhotoShop document. It will have a file size of 33mb. This is good resolution.
  • Saved as CMYK or Grayscale
  • Saved with Binary encoding
  • Cropped to accurate finish size for banners, signs or vinyl.
  • Saved as .eps or .tiff image
  • .eps images include clipping paths
  • NO LOW RESOLUTION DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS.

NOTE : Images downloaded from the Internet are only 72 dpi and will NOT reproduce well at full size. Please, no files taken from Internet web pages
